About me

Nirmala Kurthukoti is originally from Gadag, North Karnataka, which has produced legendary Hindustani musicians. She is a graduate in Science. She had her initial training in playing Sitar from Late. Pandit. Ramachandra Gudihal, a staff artist of All India Radio (AIR), Dharwad. After shifting to Mysuru, she continued her training under the guidance of Late. Pandit. Ramdas.

She secured the first rank in the Senior Section and Distinction in Vidwath, in the examinations conducted by the Karnatak Secondary Education Examination Board. For the last 20 years, she is continuing her training under the guidance of her beloved Guru, Pandit. N.V. Gopinath of Bengaluru. For the last 15 years she is conducting Sitar classes at Mysuru. She has students who have been learning from her from various periods of time. She has performed in cities like Gadag, Hubballi, Mysuru, Bengaluru, Coimbatore etc.
